10-Hydroxydecanoic acid is a specialized saturated fatty acid that is a minor constituent of royal jelly. It was discovered in 1957. The enzyme omega-hydroxydecanoate dehydrogenase is capable of oxidising the hydroxy group to give the corresponding aldehyde:
