The Chimney Sweepers Acts (Repeal) Act 1938 (1 & 2 Geo. 6. c. 58) was an act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that repealed obsolete enactments related to chimney sweeps in England and Wales.
Provisions
Repealed enactments Section 1(1) of the act repealed 4 enactments, listed in that section, as far as they related to England and Wales.
Subsequent developments The whole act was repealed by section 1 of, and the first schedule to, the Statute Law Revision Act 1950 (14 Geo. 6. c. 6), which came into force on 23 May 1950. The four repealed acts continued in force in Scotland and Northern Ireland until they were repealed by section 1 of, and part IX of the schedule to, the Statute Law (Repeals) Act 1971, which came into force on 27 July 1971.
