Eric Barbier (entrepreneur)

Eric Barbier is a French entrepreneur and business executive. He is the founder and chief executive officer of Triple-A, a Singapore-based digital payments company. Previously, he co-founded the mobile messaging company Mobile 365 and founded the cross-border payments company TransferTo, whose payments business later became Thunes.

Career In 1999, Barbier co-founded Mobile 365, a mobile messaging company. The company was acquired by Sybase in 2006. After the acquisition, Barbier moved to Singapore and founded TransferTo, which focused on cross-border mobile payments and remittances. TransferTo's payments business later became Thunes.

Triple-A In 2020, Barbier founded Triple-A, a Singapore-based financial technology company focused on cryptocurrency and digital-asset payments. The company received a Digital Payment Token licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore in 2021. In 2022, Triple-A raised US$4 million in seed funding led by zVentures, the corporate venture arm of Razer. In 2023, Triple-A raised a US$10 million Series A funding round led by Peak XV Partners. At the time, TechCrunch described Barbier as a serial fintech founder whose previous ventures included Mobile 365 and Thunes. In January 2024, Singapore payment platform AXS partnered with Triple-A to enable users to pay selected bills, taxes, fines and other services using digital currencies including Bitcoin, Ether, Tether and USD Coin. The following year, Triple-A partnered with travel platform Wego to introduce stablecoin payments for flight and hotel bookings and with FARFETCH Partner to bring digital currency payments to luxury shopping. In 2026, Triple-A's French entity, PayTop, obtained a Crypto-Asset Service Provider licence under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets framework from the Financial Markets Authority.
