The trail passes through the villages of Reeh, Gangi, and Kalyani, before reaching Bhomkugufa and the glacier terminus. Gangi is the last permanently inhabited village on the route, after which trekkers must be self-sufficient as no permanent facilities are available. The glacier serves as the principal source of the Bhilangana River and is surrounded by several prominent Himalayan peaks, including Jogin I (6,466 m), Kirti Stambh (6,902 m), Meru, Barte Kauter (6,579 m), and Sphatik Pristwar (6,905 m). The route traverses alpine meadows, dense forests, and glacial valleys, making it one of the notable trekking destinations in Uttarakhand.
