Lentihominibacter is a genus of slow-growing, rod-shaped, and non-motile bacteria isolated from human feces. The type species is Lentihominibacter hominis. The genus name combines the Latin words lentus, meaning "slow", homo, meaning "human", and bacter, meaning "rod". The type strain of L. hominis, NSJ-24T (= CGMCC 1.32874T = KCTC 25076T), was isolated from human feces. Its cells are rod-shaped and non-motile, and growth on modified Gifu anaerobic medium occurs at 37 °C over 3–10 days.
Taxonomy L. hominis is the only validly published species. A second species, "Lentihominibacter faecis", was described in the same study, but its name has not been validly published.
