It is the reverse ester of methylphenidate. Phacetoperane and levophacetoperane have been used as wakefulness-promoting agents in the treatment of narcolepsy. The precursor is called Phenyl(piperidin-2-yl)methanol. This same chemical was used in the synthesis of a compound that is called WV-1501 [5712-28-7], which is closely related to aminorex.
