Mosquitoes Mosquitoes are vectors for a large number of diseases, the large majority being viral in nature. Mosquito-borne viruses fall into four major groups: Bunyavirales, Flaviviridae, Reoviridae, and Togaviridae. They can present as either arbovirus encephalitis or viral hemorrhagic fevers.
