Uses and reactions m-Xylylenediamine (MXDA) is used in a variety of industrial applications including amine based curing agents for epoxy resins which may then be formulated into coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers. m-Xylylenediamine undergoes the Sommelet reaction to give isophthalaldehyde.
