Maciej Józef Błaszak (19 May 1953 – 26 July 2026) was a Polish physicist and professor of physical science at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
Early life and career Maciej Józef Błaszak was born in Poznań on 19 May 1953. He studied Physics and Mathematics at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and graduated in 1977. He earned his doctorate in 1983 and completed his habilitation in 1989. In 2000, he was awarded the title of professor of physical sciences. Błaszak served as the head of professor and the Department of Mathematical Physics. He spent three years as a guest lecturer at the University of Beira Interior in Covilhã, Portugal, from 1992 to 1995. Other than his teaching career, he was also an active member of the Polish Physical Society. Błaszak has published mathematical articles with Journal of Mathematical Physics, Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical, and Physica D: Nonlinear Phenomena. He has served on editorial boards for academic journals, including the Journal of Nonlinear Mathematical Physics.
Personal life and death Błaszak married and had two children. He died in Poznań on 26 July 2026, at the age of 73.
