NGC 812 is a spiral galaxy located in the Andromeda constellation, an estimated 175 million light-years from the Milky Way. NGC 812 was discovered on December 11, 1876 by astronomer Édouard Stephan.
Supernovae Two supernovae have been observed in NGC 812:
SN 2010jj (Type IIn, mag. 17) was discovered by Doug Rich on 3 November 2010. SN 2020udy (Type Iax[02cx-like], mag. 19.6) was discovered by Jakob Nordin and Daniel Perley on 24 September 2020.
