Education and career Sun graduated from Harvard University in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's degree in statistics, and spent a year studying for the Mathematical Tripos at the University of Cambridge before completing her doctorate at Stanford University in 2014. She was awarded the 2020 Wolfgang Doeblin prize by the Bernoulli Society, given biannually to a single individual for outstanding research in the field of probability, and who is at the beginning of their mathematical career. She was an invited plenary speaker at the 40th Stochastic Processes and their Applications conference.
