Some are very hard, almost as strong as diamond. Nitrogen anions can take the form of diazenide [N2−2], pentazolate [N−5], 1-dimensional chains [N2−4], hexazine dianion [N2−6], pernitride N4−2 and even include dinitrogen molecules.
