There is only one species in this genus: Chrysochromulina brevifilum virus PW1 (CbV-PW1, Prymnesiovirus brevifilum). It infects Haptolina brevifila, basionym: Chrysochromulina brevifilum (Edvardsen et al., 2011).

Structure
