Key takeaways

  • Reclamation Service Boise Project Office belongs to engineering; place it in that map before memorising details.
  • Learn the definition first, then one example that makes the definition concrete.
  • Connect Reclamation Service Boise Project Office to a quantity you can measure, compute or draw — that is where exam questions come from.
  • Reproduce the core statement of Reclamation Service Boise Project Office from memory before moving on to harder problems.

Reference excerpt

The Reclamation Service Boise Project Office in Boise, Idaho, is a 2-story, L-shape Bungalow with entry at a porch on the inside corner. Finished in 1912, the building is constructed of brick with corbels separating basement, first, and second floors, and it includes segmented arch window openings. The low pitched roof includes four dormers. The building was constructed by the Whiteway-Lee Co., and it features American Craftsman details uncommon to public buildings at the time. C. Herbert Lee had been an architect in the office of Tourtellotte & Co., and he had supervised construction of the 1907 administration building at the University of Idaho. But the Reclamation Office design is attributed to F.E. Weymouth, supervising engineer for the U.S. Reclamation Service. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Reclamation Service After passage of the Newlands Reclamation Act in 1902, the Reclamation Service was the administrative center of irrigation projects in Idaho and other western states. Various projects were completed and managed, including Minidoka Dam, Arrowrock Dam, Boise River Diversion Dam, Lake Lowell, and the New York Canal, formerly the Main Canal. The Reclamation Service also adjudicated water rights disputes.

Worked examples

Example 1 — a first encounter with Reclamation Service Boise Project Office

Start with the simplest possible case. Write down what Reclamation Service Boise Project Office claims or describes in one sentence, then invent the smallest concrete situation in which that sentence is true. In engineering, the smallest case is usually a single object, a single equation or a single measurement. Check that every symbol or term in your sentence has a meaning in that case.

Example 2 — changing one variable

Take the situation from Example 1 and change exactly one quantity: double it, halve it, or set it to zero. Predict what should happen to Reclamation Service Boise Project Office before you calculate. Comparing your prediction with the result is the fastest way to find out whether you understand the idea or only the words.

Example 3 — an exam-style question

Typical questions about Reclamation Service Boise Project Office ask you to (a) state it precisely, (b) apply it to given data, and (c) explain a limitation. Practise writing all three answers in under five minutes; the third part is what separates a full-mark answer from an average one.

Applications of Reclamation Service Boise Project Office

In research
Reclamation Service Boise Project Office appears in engineering research whenever the underlying quantities have to be modelled precisely. Papers usually cite it as a starting assumption and then explore where it breaks down.
In technology and industry
Engineering practice reuses Reclamation Service Boise Project Office in design rules, simulations and safety margins. Knowing the idea lets you read a specification sheet and understand why the numbers look the way they do.
In the classroom
Reclamation Service Boise Project Office is common in secondary-school and first-year university syllabi. It links to neighbouring topics Ada County, Idaho Registered Historic Place stubs, Buildings and structures completed in 1912, Government buildings in Idaho, so understanding it makes those chapters shorter.
In everyday life
Look for Reclamation Service Boise Project Office outside the textbook — in sport, cooking, traffic, electronics or the sky above you. An example you found yourself is remembered far longer than one you were given.
