Riegeldale Tavern

Riegeldale Tavern is a engineering topic covered in the lgStudy science library. This page brings together a partial reference excerpt, illustrations, worked examples, real-world applications and a short study plan, so you can understand Riegeldale Tavern rather than just read about it. In short: Riegeldale Tavern is a restaurant located in Trion on Old Highway 27 in Northwest Georgia, United States. It is surrounded by the Appalachian Mountains along with the Chattooga River.

Key takeaways

  • Riegeldale Tavern belongs to engineering; place it in that map before memorising details.
  • Learn the definition first, then one example that makes the definition concrete.
  • Connect Riegeldale Tavern to a quantity you can measure, compute or draw — that is where exam questions come from.
  • Reproduce the core statement of Riegeldale Tavern from memory before moving on to harder problems.

Reference excerpt

Riegeldale Tavern is a restaurant located in Trion on Old Highway 27 in Northwest Georgia, United States. It is surrounded by the Appalachian Mountains along with the Chattooga River.

History In 1912, Benjamin D. Riegel, owner of the Trion mill, came up with the idea of the tavern. He wanted a place where traveling tourists coming through the area could have an eating place. His wife also wanted a place where friends and guests could mingle with one another. Riegel talked to his son-in-law, Clarence Jones (an architect), about building a place to sell their products and at the same time, an eating place for guests and tourists. The building itself was constructed in 1936 within six weeks, with the gardens being completed in the spring of 1937.

Design Jones visited Europe and several other countries for the design of the tavern. The architecture consisted of four dormer windows on each side with sloping roofs that had gabled ends. The back porch was made of sandstone. On the outside, there was a lamppost near the entrance at the driveway.

Food The tavern's food has won several awards. One of the awards is Who’s Who in Ford Times published by the Ford Motor Company in the mid-1900s. The most delicate meal served was The Ole Tavern Baked Eggplant. Duncan Hines, a restaurant-reviewer, wrote a paragraph on the tavern in the 1959 edition of his Adventures in Good Eating travel-guide. He wrote that they had "sizzling steaks, homemade bread, waffles and country ham."

Worked examples

Example 1 — a first encounter with Riegeldale Tavern

Start with the simplest possible case. Write down what Riegeldale Tavern claims or describes in one sentence, then invent the smallest concrete situation in which that sentence is true. In engineering, the smallest case is usually a single object, a single equation or a single measurement. Check that every symbol or term in your sentence has a meaning in that case.

Example 2 — changing one variable

Take the situation from Example 1 and change exactly one quantity: double it, halve it, or set it to zero. Predict what should happen to Riegeldale Tavern before you calculate. Comparing your prediction with the result is the fastest way to find out whether you understand the idea or only the words.

Example 3 — an exam-style question

Typical questions about Riegeldale Tavern ask you to (a) state it precisely, (b) apply it to given data, and (c) explain a limitation. Practise writing all three answers in under five minutes; the third part is what separates a full-mark answer from an average one.

Applications of Riegeldale Tavern

In research
Riegeldale Tavern appears in engineering research whenever the underlying quantities have to be modelled precisely. Papers usually cite it as a starting assumption and then explore where it breaks down.
In technology and industry
Engineering practice reuses Riegeldale Tavern in design rules, simulations and safety margins. Knowing the idea lets you read a specification sheet and understand why the numbers look the way they do.
In the classroom
Riegeldale Tavern is common in secondary-school and first-year university syllabi. It links to neighbouring topics Buildings and structures completed in 1936, Buildings and structures in Chattooga County, Georgia, Restaurants in Georgia (U.S. state), so understanding it makes those chapters shorter.
In everyday life
Look for Riegeldale Tavern outside the textbook — in sport, cooking, traffic, electronics or the sky above you. An example you found yourself is remembered far longer than one you were given.
