Key takeaways

  • Rural Power Company Limited belongs to physics; place it in that map before memorising details.
  • Learn the definition first, then one example that makes the definition concrete.
  • Connect Rural Power Company Limited to a quantity you can measure, compute or draw — that is where exam questions come from.
  • Reproduce the core statement of Rural Power Company Limited from memory before moving on to harder problems.

History Rural Power Company Limited was established on 31 December 1994. It was the first independent power producer in Bangladesh not under the Bangladesh Power Development Board. The decision to form it was made by Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on 23 November 1994. It was formed by the Rural Electrification Board and is managed by a board of directors. On 23 December 2004 it started work on a power plant in Savar in partnership with Dhaka North Power Project and Swiss company Alsthom despite specific instructions and opinions from the Power Cell, Power Development Board and the Prime Minister's Office. Sigma Huda was its legal advisor. Lahmeyer International Palli Power Services Limited sued the company in October 2005 in an arbitration court in Singapore over the cancellation of the Mymensingh 140-megawatt power plant. Both companies had rivalries over the management of the power plant. The government of Bangladesh filed a case against the LIPPS chief AZ Rezaul Haq for attempting to sabotage the power plan and attempted to arrest him.

Worked examples

Example 1 — a first encounter with Rural Power Company Limited

Start with the simplest possible case. Write down what Rural Power Company Limited claims or describes in one sentence, then invent the smallest concrete situation in which that sentence is true. In physics, the smallest case is usually a single object, a single equation or a single measurement. Check that every symbol or term in your sentence has a meaning in that case.

Example 2 — changing one variable

Take the situation from Example 1 and change exactly one quantity: double it, halve it, or set it to zero. Predict what should happen to Rural Power Company Limited before you calculate. Comparing your prediction with the result is the fastest way to find out whether you understand the idea or only the words.

Example 3 — an exam-style question

Typical questions about Rural Power Company Limited ask you to (a) state it precisely, (b) apply it to given data, and (c) explain a limitation. Practise writing all three answers in under five minutes; the third part is what separates a full-mark answer from an average one.

Applications of Rural Power Company Limited

In research
Rural Power Company Limited appears in physics research whenever the underlying quantities have to be modelled precisely. Papers usually cite it as a starting assumption and then explore where it breaks down.
In technology and industry
Engineering practice reuses Rural Power Company Limited in design rules, simulations and safety margins. Knowing the idea lets you read a specification sheet and understand why the numbers look the way they do.
In the classroom
Rural Power Company Limited is common in secondary-school and first-year university syllabi. It links to neighbouring topics Bangladeshi companies established in 1994, Bangladeshi company stubs, Companies based in Dhaka, so understanding it makes those chapters shorter.
In everyday life
Look for Rural Power Company Limited outside the textbook — in sport, cooking, traffic, electronics or the sky above you. An example you found yourself is remembered far longer than one you were given.
