Samyukta electronic warfare system

Samyukta electronic warfare system is a science topic covered in the lgStudy science library. This page brings together a partial reference excerpt, illustrations, worked examples, real-world applications and a short study plan, so you can understand Samyukta electronic warfare system rather than just read about it. In short: Samyukta (lit. 'United') is a mobile integrated electronic warfare system. Touted to be the largest electronic warfare system in India, it was developed jointly by DRDO, Bharat Electronics Limited, Electronics Corporation of India Limited, and Corps of Signals of Indian Army.

Key takeaways

  • Samyukta electronic warfare system belongs to science; place it in that map before memorising details.
  • Learn the definition first, then one example that makes the definition concrete.
  • Connect Samyukta electronic warfare system to a quantity you can measure, compute or draw — that is where exam questions come from.
  • Reproduce the core statement of Samyukta electronic warfare system from memory before moving on to harder problems.

Reference excerpt

Samyukta (lit. 'United') is a mobile integrated electronic warfare system. Touted to be the largest electronic warfare system in India, it was developed jointly by DRDO, Bharat Electronics Limited, Electronics Corporation of India Limited, and Corps of Signals of Indian Army. The System is fully mobile and is meant for tactical battlefield use. It covers wide range of frequencies and coverage of electromagnetic spectrum is handled by the communication segment and the non-communication segment. Its functions include various ELINT, COMINT and electronic attack (ECM) activities.

Description Each system operates on 145 ground mobile vehicles which has three communication and two non-communication segments and can cover an area of 150 km by 70 km. System has the capability for surveillance, analysis, interception, direction finding, and position fixing, listing, prioritising and jamming of all communication and radar signals from HF to MMW.

Development The development of the system was led by Defence Electronics Research Laboratory, Bharat Electronics Limited, Electronics Corporation of India Limited, Corps of Signals of Indian Army and private companies like Data Patterns India Ltd (Chennai), CMC and Tata Power Company Ltd. Strategic Electronics Division (Tata Power SED). Around 40 companies also contributed by producing various components indigenously. Aatre said that the challenge was to tackle the sanctions imposed by the United States after 1998 nuclear tests conducted by India which banned the import of advanced electronic components. CMC and Tata Power SED jointly developed Command and Control Software having 10 million lines of code even though project was not attractive commercially.

Worked examples

Example 1 — a first encounter with Samyukta electronic warfare system

Start with the simplest possible case. Write down what Samyukta electronic warfare system claims or describes in one sentence, then invent the smallest concrete situation in which that sentence is true. In science, the smallest case is usually a single object, a single equation or a single measurement. Check that every symbol or term in your sentence has a meaning in that case.

Example 2 — changing one variable

Take the situation from Example 1 and change exactly one quantity: double it, halve it, or set it to zero. Predict what should happen to Samyukta electronic warfare system before you calculate. Comparing your prediction with the result is the fastest way to find out whether you understand the idea or only the words.

Example 3 — an exam-style question

Typical questions about Samyukta electronic warfare system ask you to (a) state it precisely, (b) apply it to given data, and (c) explain a limitation. Practise writing all three answers in under five minutes; the third part is what separates a full-mark answer from an average one.

Applications of Samyukta electronic warfare system

In research
Samyukta electronic warfare system appears in science research whenever the underlying quantities have to be modelled precisely. Papers usually cite it as a starting assumption and then explore where it breaks down.
In technology and industry
Engineering practice reuses Samyukta electronic warfare system in design rules, simulations and safety margins. Knowing the idea lets you read a specification sheet and understand why the numbers look the way they do.
In the classroom
Samyukta electronic warfare system is common in secondary-school and first-year university syllabi. It links to neighbouring topics Defence Research and Development Organisation, Electronic warfare, Electronic warfare equipment, so understanding it makes those chapters shorter.
In everyday life
Look for Samyukta electronic warfare system outside the textbook — in sport, cooking, traffic, electronics or the sky above you. An example you found yourself is remembered far longer than one you were given.
