Songhwa Street Main Tower

Songhwa Street Main Tower is a engineering topic covered in the lgStudy science library. This page brings together a partial reference excerpt, illustrations, worked examples, real-world applications and a short study plan, so you can understand Songhwa Street Main Tower rather than just read about it. In short: Songhwa Street Main Tower (Korean: 송화거리 메인 타워) is a residential skyscraper, part of the Songhwa Street residential complex in Pyongyang. Completed in 2022, the tower stands at a height of 984 feet (300 m) with 80 floors, and is the tallest residential building in North Korea and second tallest building in the country.

Key takeaways

  • Songhwa Street Main Tower belongs to engineering; place it in that map before memorising details.
  • Learn the definition first, then one example that makes the definition concrete.
  • Connect Songhwa Street Main Tower to a quantity you can measure, compute or draw — that is where exam questions come from.
  • Reproduce the core statement of Songhwa Street Main Tower from memory before moving on to harder problems.

Reference excerpt

Songhwa Street Main Tower (Korean: 송화거리 메인 타워) is a residential skyscraper, part of the Songhwa Street residential complex in Pyongyang. Completed in 2022, the tower stands at a height of 984 feet (300 m) with 80 floors, and is the tallest residential building in North Korea and second tallest building in the country.

History

Concept The tower was built as part of the "Songhwa Street Residential Complex", located in the Sadong-guyok district as part of a grand plan to construct 10,000 modern flats in Pyongyang every year during the five-year plan for national economic development. It is the first edge city created in the eastern part of the capital. According to the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the complex project also aimed to provide the newly constructed neighbourhood with "public catering facilities" as a resolution of building a total of 50,000 apartments in Pyongyang by 2025, with 10,000 units each year.

Worked examples

Example 1 — a first encounter with Songhwa Street Main Tower

Start with the simplest possible case. Write down what Songhwa Street Main Tower claims or describes in one sentence, then invent the smallest concrete situation in which that sentence is true. In engineering, the smallest case is usually a single object, a single equation or a single measurement. Check that every symbol or term in your sentence has a meaning in that case.

Example 2 — changing one variable

Take the situation from Example 1 and change exactly one quantity: double it, halve it, or set it to zero. Predict what should happen to Songhwa Street Main Tower before you calculate. Comparing your prediction with the result is the fastest way to find out whether you understand the idea or only the words.

Example 3 — an exam-style question

Typical questions about Songhwa Street Main Tower ask you to (a) state it precisely, (b) apply it to given data, and (c) explain a limitation. Practise writing all three answers in under five minutes; the third part is what separates a full-mark answer from an average one.

Applications of Songhwa Street Main Tower

In research
Songhwa Street Main Tower appears in engineering research whenever the underlying quantities have to be modelled precisely. Papers usually cite it as a starting assumption and then explore where it breaks down.
In technology and industry
Engineering practice reuses Songhwa Street Main Tower in design rules, simulations and safety margins. Knowing the idea lets you read a specification sheet and understand why the numbers look the way they do.
In the classroom
Songhwa Street Main Tower is common in secondary-school and first-year university syllabi. It links to neighbouring topics 2022 establishments in North Korea, 21st-century architecture in North Korea, Buildings and structures completed in 2022, so understanding it makes those chapters shorter.
In everyday life
Look for Songhwa Street Main Tower outside the textbook — in sport, cooking, traffic, electronics or the sky above you. An example you found yourself is remembered far longer than one you were given.
