Key takeaways

  • Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno belongs to engineering; place it in that map before memorising details.
  • Learn the definition first, then one example that makes the definition concrete.
  • Connect Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno to a quantity you can measure, compute or draw — that is where exam questions come from.
  • Reproduce the core statement of Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno from memory before moving on to harder problems.

Reference excerpt

The Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno is a stadium in Mandjafa, in the 7th arrondissement of N'Djamena, Chad, which was inaugurated on May 23, 2025. It is the country's first modern stadium and was a gift from China to the government of Chad. In addition to football matches, the stadium can also host cultural events and track and field competitions. The stadium is decorated in the national colors of yellow, red, and blue and features a running track.

Location The stadium is located in the 7th arrondissement of N'Djamena, just under 15 kilometers from the city center, on the banks of the Chari River.

History The construction of the stadium was announced in 2018. On August 19, 2019, President Idriss Déby laid the cornerstone for the construction of Mandjafa Stadium. The sports complex, with a capacity of 30,000 seats, was built by a Chinese company at a cost of 50 billion CFA francs. Construction took 46 months and was completed in 2025. The arena was designed by the Shanghai Architectural Design & Research Institute and built by the Shaanxi Construction Engineering Group Corporation. On May 13, 2025, the stadium was renamed Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno, after the former president of Chad, who died in 2021. The opening ceremony, which took place on May 23, 2025, was presided over by his son and successor as president, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno. The stadium was first used by the Chad national football team for its matches in the round 8 of the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup when they got their first ever point in the campaign against Ghana, although the lone point was useless because the Sao were already eliminated from the qualification process in March 2025. In the 2027 AFCON prelim qualifiers, the stadium hosted a match vs. Burundi. Chad lost the match 4-0.

Worked examples

Example 1 — a first encounter with Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno

Start with the simplest possible case. Write down what Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno claims or describes in one sentence, then invent the smallest concrete situation in which that sentence is true. In engineering, the smallest case is usually a single object, a single equation or a single measurement. Check that every symbol or term in your sentence has a meaning in that case.

Example 2 — changing one variable

Take the situation from Example 1 and change exactly one quantity: double it, halve it, or set it to zero. Predict what should happen to Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno before you calculate. Comparing your prediction with the result is the fastest way to find out whether you understand the idea or only the words.

Example 3 — an exam-style question

Typical questions about Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno ask you to (a) state it precisely, (b) apply it to given data, and (c) explain a limitation. Practise writing all three answers in under five minutes; the third part is what separates a full-mark answer from an average one.

Applications of Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno

In research
Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno appears in engineering research whenever the underlying quantities have to be modelled precisely. Papers usually cite it as a starting assumption and then explore where it breaks down.
In technology and industry
Engineering practice reuses Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno in design rules, simulations and safety margins. Knowing the idea lets you read a specification sheet and understand why the numbers look the way they do.
In the classroom
Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno is common in secondary-school and first-year university syllabi. It links to neighbouring topics Athletics venues in Chad, Buildings and structures completed in 2025, Buildings and structures in N'Djamena, so understanding it makes those chapters shorter.
In everyday life
Look for Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno outside the textbook — in sport, cooking, traffic, electronics or the sky above you. An example you found yourself is remembered far longer than one you were given.
