History The monument was designed by sculptor Jerzy Mikler and unveiled on 3 August 2009. It is dedicated to Reksio, a fictional dog from the children's animated adventure-comedy television series of the same name, which was originally produced from 1967 to 1990 and created by Lechosław Marszałek in Bielsko-Biała-based Studio Filmów Rysunkowych. On 1 September 2023, the Lechosław Marszałek Monument, designed by Wiesław Koronowski, was also unveiled nearby.

Characteristics

The monument is placed in Bielsko-Biała city centre, by the Biała river, at a small square between Jedynastego Listopada and Stojałowskiego Streets. It consists of a bronze statue depicting Reksio, a fictional cartoon dog from the children's animated television series of the same name. He is standing on his back paws, with one hand put to his snout, and another pointing at the nearby fountain. He has a surprised expression on his face, with slightly opened mouth, and one of his ears pointing upwards and the other falling downwards. The sculpture is 90 centimeters tall and weights 130 kg. The statue is placed next to a fountain in the shape of an uneven oval broken into four separate parts. Near the sculpture is also a monument dedicated to the character's creator, Lechosław Marszałek. Worked examples

Example 1 — a first encounter with Statue of Reksio (Bielsko-Biała)

Start with the simplest possible case. Write down what Statue of Reksio (Bielsko-Biała) claims or describes in one sentence, then invent the smallest concrete situation in which that sentence is true. In engineering, the smallest case is usually a single object, a single equation or a single measurement. Check that every symbol or term in your sentence has a meaning in that case.

Example 2 — changing one variable

Take the situation from Example 1 and change exactly one quantity: double it, halve it, or set it to zero. Predict what should happen to Statue of Reksio (Bielsko-Biała) before you calculate. Comparing your prediction with the result is the fastest way to find out whether you understand the idea or only the words.

Example 3 — an exam-style question

Typical questions about Statue of Reksio (Bielsko-Biała) ask you to (a) state it precisely, (b) apply it to given data, and (c) explain a limitation. Practise writing all three answers in under five minutes; the third part is what separates a full-mark answer from an average one.

Applications of Statue of Reksio (Bielsko-Biała)

In research
Statue of Reksio (Bielsko-Biała) appears in engineering research whenever the underlying quantities have to be modelled precisely. Papers usually cite it as a starting assumption and then explore where it breaks down.
In technology and industry
Engineering practice reuses Statue of Reksio (Bielsko-Biała) in design rules, simulations and safety margins. Knowing the idea lets you read a specification sheet and understand why the numbers look the way they do.
In the classroom
Statue of Reksio (Bielsko-Biała) is common in secondary-school and first-year university syllabi. It links to neighbouring topics 2009 establishments in Poland, 2009 sculptures, Bronze sculptures in Poland, so understanding it makes those chapters shorter.
In everyday life
Look for Statue of Reksio (Bielsko-Biała) outside the textbook — in sport, cooking, traffic, electronics or the sky above you. An example you found yourself is remembered far longer than one you were given.
