Türksat (company)

Türksat (company) is a engineering topic covered in the lgStudy science library. This page brings together a partial reference excerpt, illustrations, worked examples, real-world applications and a short study plan, so you can understand Türksat (company) rather than just read about it. In short: Türksat Satellite Communications Cable TV and Operations Incorporated (Turkish: Türksat Uydu Haberleşme Kablo TV ve İşletme A.Ş.) is the sole communications satellite operator in Turkey. It was established on 21 December 1990 as a state-owned company named Türksat Milli Haberleşme Uyduları (Türksat National Communications Satellites) in Gölbaşı, Ankara Province; eventually incorporating the satellite services of Tür…

Key takeaways

  • Türksat (company) belongs to engineering; place it in that map before memorising details.
  • Learn the definition first, then one example that makes the definition concrete.
  • Connect Türksat (company) to a quantity you can measure, compute or draw — that is where exam questions come from.
  • Reproduce the core statement of Türksat (company) from memory before moving on to harder problems.

Reference excerpt

It was established on 21 December 1990 as a state-owned company named Türksat Milli Haberleşme Uyduları (Türksat National Communications Satellites) in Gölbaşı, Ankara Province; eventually incorporating the satellite services of Türk Telekomünikasyon A.Ş. and becoming Türksat A.Ş. on 22 July 2004. Türksat A.Ş. also owns 100% of the shares of Eurasiasat S.A.M., jointly established as a spin-off company with Aérospatiale in 1996 to manufacture and launch Türksat 2A (Eurasiasat 1) in 2001. Hasan Hüseyin ERTOK was appointed as the General Manager of Türksat A.Ş on January 21, 2021.

Satellites Türksat A.Ş. has launched the Türksat series of satellites, and operated in the past Türksat 1C, Türksat 2A, Türksat 3A and Astra 1D (lease capacity) communications satellites. Currently, Türksat 4A is in operation. The company conducts satellite telecommunication at its Gölbaşı Ground Station in Ankara. Türksat 4A was launched on 17 February 2014 in cooperation with Rosoboronexport.

Worked examples

Example 1 — a first encounter with Türksat (company)

Start with the simplest possible case. Write down what Türksat (company) claims or describes in one sentence, then invent the smallest concrete situation in which that sentence is true. In engineering, the smallest case is usually a single object, a single equation or a single measurement. Check that every symbol or term in your sentence has a meaning in that case.

Example 2 — changing one variable

Take the situation from Example 1 and change exactly one quantity: double it, halve it, or set it to zero. Predict what should happen to Türksat (company) before you calculate. Comparing your prediction with the result is the fastest way to find out whether you understand the idea or only the words.

Example 3 — an exam-style question

Typical questions about Türksat (company) ask you to (a) state it precisely, (b) apply it to given data, and (c) explain a limitation. Practise writing all three answers in under five minutes; the third part is what separates a full-mark answer from an average one.

Applications of Türksat (company)

In research
Türksat (company) appears in engineering research whenever the underlying quantities have to be modelled precisely. Papers usually cite it as a starting assumption and then explore where it breaks down.
In technology and industry
Engineering practice reuses Türksat (company) in design rules, simulations and safety margins. Knowing the idea lets you read a specification sheet and understand why the numbers look the way they do.
In the classroom
Türksat (company) is common in secondary-school and first-year university syllabi. It links to neighbouring topics 1990 establishments in Turkey, Communications satellite operators, Companies based in Ankara, so understanding it makes those chapters shorter.
In everyday life
Look for Türksat (company) outside the textbook — in sport, cooking, traffic, electronics or the sky above you. An example you found yourself is remembered far longer than one you were given.
