Toludesvenlafaxine

Toludesvenlafaxine is a science topic covered in the lgStudy science library. This page brings together a partial reference excerpt, illustrations, worked examples, real-world applications and a short study plan, so you can understand Toludesvenlafaxine rather than just read about it. In short: Toludesvenlafaxine, also formerly known as ansofaxine and sold under the brand name Ruoxinlin, is an antidepressant which is approved for the treatment of major depressive disorder in China. It is also under development for use in other countries like the United States.

Key takeaways

  • Toludesvenlafaxine belongs to science; place it in that map before memorising details.
  • Learn the definition first, then one example that makes the definition concrete.
  • Connect Toludesvenlafaxine to a quantity you can measure, compute or draw — that is where exam questions come from.
  • Reproduce the core statement of Toludesvenlafaxine from memory before moving on to harder problems.

Reference excerpt

Toludesvenlafaxine, also formerly known as ansofaxine and sold under the brand name Ruoxinlin, is an antidepressant which is approved for the treatment of major depressive disorder in China. It is also under development for use in other countries like the United States. It is a serotonin–norepinephrine–dopamine reuptake inhibitor (SNDRI) and was developed by Luye Pharma Group. Toludesvenlafaxine is described as an SNDRI and prodrug to desvenlafaxine. However, unlike desvenlafaxine, which has in vitro IC50Tooltip half-maximal inhibitory concentration values of 53 nM and 538 nM for inhibition of serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake, respectively, toludesvenlafaxine has respective in vitro IC50 values of 723 nM, 763 nM, and 491 nM for serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine reuptake inhibition. As such, toludesvenlafaxine appears to be a more balanced reuptake inhibitor of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine than desvenlafaxine. As of July 2018, toludesvenlafaxine is in preregistration for the treatment of depression in the United States, the European Union, and Japan. As of January 2023, it is also in phase 3 clinical trials for the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder. In March 2020, the United States Food and Drug Administration accepted Luye Pharma's New Drug Application for toludesvenlafaxine, which remains under review. In November 2022, toludesvenlafaxine was approved for the treatment of depression in China under the brand name Ruoxinlin.

Worked examples

Example 1 — a first encounter with Toludesvenlafaxine

Start with the simplest possible case. Write down what Toludesvenlafaxine claims or describes in one sentence, then invent the smallest concrete situation in which that sentence is true. In science, the smallest case is usually a single object, a single equation or a single measurement. Check that every symbol or term in your sentence has a meaning in that case.

Example 2 — changing one variable

Take the situation from Example 1 and change exactly one quantity: double it, halve it, or set it to zero. Predict what should happen to Toludesvenlafaxine before you calculate. Comparing your prediction with the result is the fastest way to find out whether you understand the idea or only the words.

Example 3 — an exam-style question

Typical questions about Toludesvenlafaxine ask you to (a) state it precisely, (b) apply it to given data, and (c) explain a limitation. Practise writing all three answers in under five minutes; the third part is what separates a full-mark answer from an average one.

Applications of Toludesvenlafaxine

In research
Toludesvenlafaxine appears in science research whenever the underlying quantities have to be modelled precisely. Papers usually cite it as a starting assumption and then explore where it breaks down.
In technology and industry
Engineering practice reuses Toludesvenlafaxine in design rules, simulations and safety margins. Knowing the idea lets you read a specification sheet and understand why the numbers look the way they do.
In the classroom
Toludesvenlafaxine is common in secondary-school and first-year university syllabi. It links to neighbouring topics Antidepressants, Cyclohexanols, Nervous system drug stubs, so understanding it makes those chapters shorter.
In everyday life
Look for Toludesvenlafaxine outside the textbook — in sport, cooking, traffic, electronics or the sky above you. An example you found yourself is remembered far longer than one you were given.
