Tristan Hübsch (born 22 December 1958) is an American physicist of Yugoslav descent. His main subject of research is string theory. He graduated from the University of Novi Sad in 1981 and earned a B.Sc. in Physics, spent two years at the University of Zagreb as a Graduate Student, and received his Ph.D. in Physics in 1987, at the University of Maryland, College Park, in the group of Jogesh Pati. He conducted postdoctoral research at The University of Texas at Austin and at Harvard University. In 1992, he relocated to the Washington, D.C. Area where he lives to this day and works as a professor of Physics and Astronomy at Howard University. He actively collaborates with Per Berglund, Djordje Minic and Sylvester James Gates, Jr. He works on quantum gravity, string theory and mathematical physics. He is a Full Member of the Serbian Academy of Nonlinear Sciences.
