The Richardsonian Romanesque red brick home was built from 1894-1896. It has a two-story carriage house at its rear. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in November 2000. It was designed by Herman Lemm and built by P. Schneider and Company. The house is significant locally for its architecture and is a rare Richardsonian Romanesque house in a neighborhood whose large homes are Italianate, Queen Anne, and Dutch Colonial style. The three-story house is prominent in the Tower Grove East neighborhood and illustrates the development patterns of St. Louis southwest of downtown.
